Background
My passion for travel is what led me to discover the healing power of yoga. Nearly 30 years ago I lugged a heavy backpack for a year through Southeast Asia and came home with a painful case of sciatica. After doing some research I told my chiropractor I was thinking of trying yoga. He said I wouldn’t need to see him if I started taking yoga, and he was right! Not long after, I tried my first Bikram yoga class and was hooked.
I attended teacher training in 2002 and have been teaching ever since. I strive to make my classes as challenging as those first classes I took that kept me coming back by focusing on proper alignment and encouraging students to work hard. I’m passionate about helping others improve their practice through mindful form and determination. I get the most satisfaction when students share with me the benefits – physical, mental and spiritual -- they experience from a regular practice.
